Suite for Brass Quintet

Copyright: 1993

Suite for Brass Quintet (1993) was written for trombonist Dennis Klophaus. The opening fanfare is followed by three contrasting dance movements: the slow, lyrical "Melancholy Waltz," the "Totentanz," which features the tuba, and finally "Dance of the Marionettes," which passes
the theme around between the instruments with mixed meters, resulting in quirky turns of phrase.
